Hello CKc Community!
Lots of behind-the-scenes work being done here at CKc HQ. Getting our new database system up and running takes time, but we are continuing to move forward at a good pace. Our amazing Gold Gala team is hard at work making plans for our spectacular inaugural formal fundraiser in April. Our CKc team continues to make great progress on the needed grant processes for our foundation. This work may not be as glamorous, but it is necessary for us to grow and reach our goal of raising more money with every year to fund pediatric cancer research trials and find a cure!
Speaking of growing, our co-founder, Melissa Wiggins, is in Scotland this week and met with representatives of the Yorkhill Children's Charity at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow. She is helping to spread the word about the the critical need for funding children's cancer research and discussing ways our foundations can work together to further CKc's mission and help children worldwide beat cancer. She is beaming with excitement and promises to have an update to you soon about her progress.
Our other co-founder, Michael Wiggins, had the privilege of speaking to the students and staff of St. James Cathedral School in Orlando last week. St. James has been a wonderful supporter of CKc! The students have helped make hundreds of cards for the CKc Card Club and have been working hard to raise money and offer prayers for CKc, and all of the people who are affected by pediatric cancer. Thank you, St. James Cathedral School!
CKc also was honored to be featured in an Orlando newspaper this past week. Click here to read the article. We love the support we receive from our home town!
We are looking to sign on some great corporate sponsors for our Gold Gala event on April 23, 2016. Most of the sponsor packages include tickets to the event. If you or your company is interested in helping to sponsor, we would love to hear from you! Remember, the purpose of the Gold Gala event is to raise $100,000 in one night to help us fund two new pediatric cancer clinical trials. We know we can reach our goal, but we can't do it without your help!! Please consider sponsoring this very special event. For more sponsor information, please email Gold.Gala@cannonballkidscancer.org. Thank you!
Until next time!
